4. A binding, joining, fastening. Equivalent to “nectere”: to bind, fasten, or tie.

This series began as an outgrowth of the Hawaiian Volcanics and Fishwater paintings. Experimentations with a new acrylic gel medium, combined with techniques from those previous series, opened up a new world of possibilities. Layers of color suspended in a crystal clear gel are built on each other producing three dimensional depths; small, deep worlds.
